Surround Sound Wireless Speakers

It is often said that the wireless surround sound speaker system is the future of audio, and with so many new products, each one more advanced than the last, it's a prediction that I would be willing to stand behind. But if you are thinking of buying wireless speakers, there are a few things you should know before you set out to purchase your set.

First of all, no matter what product you buy for your home theater surround sound; wireless speakers are not actually completely wireless. In fact, any front or center stereo speakers will be wired, and they have to be. 'Wireless' surround sound actually refers to those in the back of the room, furthest away from the amplifier. This is done as a matter of convenience, to make it easier to wire the system, without the tangled mess of everything being too close together.

The wireless option won't actually make a difference to the sound quality itself. What it will do, however, is allow you to purchase a top of the line stereo system that is likely to have better clarity then other models because of it's design, and the equipment within the speakers themselves, as well as the subwoofer, and other attachments and features that may come with the set. This is the real reason that wireless is superior, with the added bonus of no wire mess to sort through, and easier installation.

Keeping all this in mind when you go to buy your wireless speakers, there are some other things you should look out for. The first thing you will want to focus on is the number of speakers that your set will contain. If you are installing your system into a large room, such a living room or basement area, you will want around five; two for the front, one for the center, and two for the back. This is in addition to a decent subwoofer.

Also, when you are heading out to the store, make sure you have all of your system information with you, such the model numbers and names of all electronics you own that will be connected. Include DVD player, consoles, cable boxes, televisions, and the works. The more information you have, the less likely you will pick up an incompatible surround sound package by mistake.

And, finally, pay close attention to price. If it seems a little high or low, inquire why. If the sales representative can't give you a good answer, then do your own researches before you settle on a model. Many places will end up marking up prices on entertainment and luxury items, so know your stuff before you walk through that door, and decide ahead of time how much you are willing to spend.
