It is the dream of many to own the perfect home theater system, and a big part of realizing that dream is finding the perfect surround sound to go with it. From surround sound wall speakers to wireless speakers, it can be easy to become overwhelmed by the number of choices offered in most stores, especially if you don't know as much as you might like to about how to pick the best ones.
That's why sometimes it can help to have a little guidance from someone who has experience in buying surround sound speakers, which is why I have compiled a list of some of my favorite tips for picking out the best sound system for your home theater.
The first thing to look at when you buy surround sound speakers is the room size you want to put them in. While you can buy some fairly decent speakers on a budget price, you have to keep in mind that the smaller and cheaper the set, the less the sound will carry. So if you have a large room you want to install them in, you will need to spend a little more money. Make sure they can be expanded far enough to surround the room, and that there are no dimensional qualifications that limit how far apart they can be set.
Second, never buy anything without having some kind of assurance of the sound quality prior to the purchase. If you are buying surround sound speakers such as Dolby Digital, you should be fine. But if it's a company you have never heard of, or one that is less known then the usual speaker manufacturers, you will want to be able to either test the product, or have access to plenty of customer reviews. If you have attachments to the system, you will want to check these as well.
Finally, compare prices. There are quite a few places that will mark up the price, and so you can end up spending as much as $100, sometimes more, then you have to. This is especially true online, where inflated taxes, shipping, and insurance costs may be built in, and then added separately, costing you quite a bit in the end. No matter where you buy, take care to check the price tag at other locations, to make sure you are getting the best price.
